Due to bridge construction work on the Gänstorbrücke bridge, the Ulmer Spatz will not be able to sail on the Danube in 2024.

The little ship has long belonged to the Ulm tradition. In 2011 it was nearing its end. Then came a saviour. The ›Ulmer Spatz‹ sails on the Danube once again and boasts amazing views on a 60-minute round trip.
The ship´s saviour and thus of shipping in Ulm on the whole is the Lebenshilfe Donau-Iller (The charity Lebenshilfe provides support to those with mental or multiple handicaps.). It took a great deal of effort and many months to restore the historic excursion ship that can accommodate up to 30 passengers. Since 2015, it has afforded the opportunity to discover Ulm and Neu-Ulm from a special perspective once again.
The crew is made up of people with and without disabilities, of Ulm ambassadors as well as those recounting captivating anecdotes. They are particularly child-friendly. Upon request, they can even have a go at steering the ship.
Captains, take us on a journey! The ferry stations are located at Metzgerturm and in the Friedrichsau, Ulm´s largest city park. It also glides past the front of the old town, the Neu-Ulmer Schwal, past ducks and swans. Always heading towards the horizon, but not quite to the end of the world. The weir marks the turning point. Stearing is thirsty work, so why not refresh yourself with a drink on board! You will also get a handful of tips for your next activities ashore.
